Police: Youth fatally stab man in Beersheba

A man was fatally stabbed Friday overnight at a park in Beersheba near his family apartment after telling a number of youths there to lower their voices, police said.

The attack occurred when the man, in his late 30s, left his apartment to tell a number of teenagers in the park to be quiet, after he initially called police.

The encounter the man had with the youths turned violent, as they began attacking him and eventually stabbing him in the early morning hours. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police arrived to find paramedics treating the man on site. A Magen David Adom rescue team confirmed the man's death after a number of minutes of attempted resuscitation.

Paramedics took the victim's wife - who witnessed the tragic event from the family's fourth-story apartment - for treatment as she was suffering from shock.
