A report by Human Rights Watch, released on Monday, said that currently 189 political prisoners are being held in the Iranian city of Karaj, near Tehran.

The report said that the prisoners, among them journalists and bloggers, were imprisoned for offenses relating to free speech and peaceful assembly.

The report expresses disappointment with what was supposed to be Iran's more-moderate leadership.
