Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday warned that executing Tariq Aziz, who once served as aide to former Iraqi dictator Sadam Hussein, "will only worsen the situation in Iraq," AFP reported.
Lavrov said that "the move will not get international support," and repeated Russia's request to not carry out the execution considering Aziz's age and the state of his health, the report said.
