If a ground operation is needed in Gaza the government will approve it, Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar told Israel Radio Sunday morning.

Sa'ar confirmed that the Cabinet was discussing the possibility of a ground incursion into the Strip and was weighing the pros and cons.

Sa'ar also revealed that negotiations towards achieving a cease fire had not yet progressed to a point that would justify halting military operations in Gaza.

Accordingly, he said, the IDF would continue.
