US has not directly asked Lima to break with North Korea -source

The United States has not directly asked Peru to break ties with North Korea and Lima is not currently planning taking any actions regarding the Asian nation, a Peru government source said on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, US Vice President Mike Pence urged Peru, Brazil, Chile and Mexico to break ties with North Korea. . Peru asked North Korea to reduce its embassy personnel in Lima a couple months ago over an unrelated matter, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
