US intelligence committee says Benghazi attack could have been prevented

The US intelligence committee released a report on Wednesday reviewing the attacks on US facilities in Benghazi, Libya in September 2012.

The report highlighted the failures of the CIA and State Department in preventing the attacks, The Washington Post reports.
The committee says there was no advance warning, however that in the weeks leading up to the attack the CIA knew that conditions of the ground in Libya were worsening.
The report also says that the fact that the CIA and the State Department weren't working in the same facility meant that the best trained employees were not on location during the time of the attack.
