Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich on Saturday emphasized the importance of maintaining the peace treaty with Egypt in the face of growing challenges in the bilateral relationship, particularly in fighting terrorism in Sinai.
"The peace with Egypt, with all its problem, must be maintained," she said.
Saying that Sinai has "become a chaotic place that concentrates extreme Islamist forces," she said Egyptian attempts to assert themselves forcefully against terror in the peninsula must not interfere with the peace treaty.
