'Rabin's assassination is just a page in history books'

General Staff Forum members gathered Monday morning at the Rabin Center to mark 15 years since the assassination of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Speaking at the forum, Dalia Rabin, the daughter of the late prime minister, said 15 years had passed since her father's death and current soldiers "do not remember where they were on that terrible night. For one and a half million students the assassination is but a page in their history books and is an incident in the distant past."
After the forum, Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi said the IDF is making strong efforts to tell the story of Rabin's assassination because today's soldiers were only five-years-old when it happened and it is a duty to remember and remind people about it.
