Former prime minister Ariel Sharon will soon be permanently moved from
Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer to his Negev ranch, a source close
to his family said Thursday, confirming a report in Yediot Aharonot.
Sharon, who has been in a coma since January 2006, has been brought to
the ranch for weekends in order to test how he would handle the move on a
permanent basis.
A special room is being built for him at the ranch
with all the necessary medical equipment. He would be under 24-hour
medical supervision at the ranch as he is at the hospital. Sharon's sons
hope returning to the ranch could help their father recover, but
medical authorities have said that his chances of recovering are slim to
none.
