IMA chief Edelman: Israeli health care system is collapsing

Israel Medical Association chairman Dr. Leonid Edelman warned on Tuesday that the health care system in Israel is collapsing and capacity is at as much as 180 percent in some hospitals.
Edelman complained that the amount being spent on health was stuck at the same level as the mid-1990s, 7.7% of the Gross National Product.
The IMA chief warned that if the system was collapsing under normal circumstances, then in the case of an epidemic, hospitals would likely shut down completely.
