1,000 new units in Gilo pass early step in approval process

A plan for almost 1,000 units in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem, located across the Green Line, was deposited for review last Thursday, one of the first steps in the approval process. The plan calls for 942 units in a project called “The Slopes of Gilo” as well as an option for an additional 300 units at a later date.
The deposit step means that the project will be examined and approved by the municipality and the Interior Ministry though it will be a number of years before all the approvals are received and construction can begin. Later this month, the Interior Ministry’s Jerusalem District Planning and Construction Committee will discuss another 900 units for Gilo in a separate housing project, which already received approval from the municipality.
