White House: Obama, Erdogan agree Syria needs more pressure

NEW YORK - US President Barack Obama and Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan agreed on Tuesday on the need to boost pressure on Syrian President Bashar Assad over his crackdown on popular demonstrations, the White House said.
Obama also underscored with Erdogan the need to resolve Turkey's differences with Israel over the deadly 2010 Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound Turkish aid flotilla, Liz Sherwood-Randall, a senior White House national security official, told reporters.
