Hamas, Fatah representatives meet in Gaza ahead of UN bid

Representatives of Fatah and Hamas met in Gaza on Thursday to discuss the PA's upcoming bid for recognition of a Palestinian state at the United Nations as well as the frozen reconciliation deal between the two factions, Ma'an news agency reported.
PA president Mahmoud Abbas was scheduled to give a speech in Ramallah on Friday, outlining the strategy to be taken at the UN.
Hamas leader Ismail Radwan, who attended the meeting, said that the sides hold differing opinions on the efficacy of the UN bid for statehood, but agree that national unity is a priority.
