Meretz leader Gal-On on Olmert case: 'Judge saw through media spin'

Meretz Party leader Zehava Gal-On on Monday praised the conviction of former prime minister Ehud Olmert on bribery charges, saying that Judge David Rozen had seen through the media spin.

">udge Rozen did not buy the media spin created by Olmert and his associates and convicted one of the most corrupt politicians in the history of the state for accepting bribes . The conviction solidifies the rule of law , proving to 'spin-doctors' and PR people that leaders are not above the law."

Gal-On added, "Judge Rozen peeled away the lies presented by one who used the path of a civil service career to enrich himself and his associates and established that Olmert lied to the court," and that, "Corrupt politicians do not only spoil their image , but the image of politics."
