Shaath: Netanyahu's calls for peace talks insincere

Senior Fatah official Nabil Shaath on Saturday slammed as insincere Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's calls for an immediate resumption of peace talks.
"He talks about making painful concessions, but he has not made a single concession on the ground," Shaath said in an interview to Channel 2, adding that twenty years of negotiations with Israel had led the Palestinians nowhere.
Shaath stated that the UN bid did not contradict negotiations. He said that the PA would enter negotiations if Netanyahu halted settlement construction.
"Netanyahu must say 'peace is more important to me than building on Palestinian land.' He must say, 'I will cease settlements to give peace a chance.'"
