Yesh Atid to appeal draft of 1,300 haredim to civil service

The Yesh Atid party is to submit a petition to the Supreme Court against the government's decision on Sunday to enlist 1,300 yeshiva students for civilian service in place of army service, Israel Radio reported.
At a Knesset campaign in Harish, Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid labeled the decision a "national scandal," adding that this should be the "last time blackmail circumvents the rule of law in Israel," Israel Radio reported.
He added that draft notices should be passed to all yeshiva students to ensure all the youth share the military burden.
