Police search for man who left suicide note before flight

Police are searching in a race against time to find a man from central Israel who left a suicide note at his home and took off in his ultra-light, vanishing into thin air.

The man, who began taking lessons on the ultra-light about six months ago but still does not have a pilots license, flew out of an air strip at Ein Vered in the Sharon around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning. A relative of the man found the note at his house and notified police, who sent a patrol helicopter to the sky to try to locate the man, to no avail.

After the disappearance, the police operational branch notified the army to be on the look-out for a man in an ultra-light is flying to parts unknown in Israel's airspace.
