Following a week's worth of coverage about the Terkel Committee in the Hebrew press that focused on the collective ages of the members, Deputy Pensioners Affairs Minister Leah Ness sent the committee members a letter on Wednesday praising them for their vitality.
She said the age of the committee members should be seen by the public as an advantage and not a disadvantage.
She said it was important to improve the image of pensioners in Israel.
“Israeli society can gain a lot from the experience of its veteran citizens,” Ness wrote. “The members of the committee set a positive example.”
