Community enforced-silence succeeded in hiding years of sexual abuse among the haredi residents of Moshav Komemiyut, Channel 10 reported Friday night.
According to allegations filed with the police, Shimon Weltzer, a fundraiser working within the community engaged in sexual relations with dozens of boys from age five up to those in their early teenage years, Channel 10 reported. Most of the sexual acts described in the allegations were said to have occurred in the community mikveh (ritual bath).

The report also claimed that over the years some of the children who were allegedly abused by Weltzer became sexual predators in their own right, with at least one complaint filed with the police accusing one of Weltzer's alleged victims of sexually abusing children younger than him.
Weltzer has moved abroad and has not returned to Israel to speak with police investigators about the accusations made against him, the police and several residents told Channel 10 reporters.
