A body that washed up on the coast of Netanya on Saturday belongs to Radni Cohen, a 26-year-old man who fell off the cruise ship Mirage 1 near the coast of Cyprus last week.Though the body was discovered several days ago, its physical condition made it difficult for forensic experts to determine identity. On Wednesday, officials from the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir released a statement announcing the identification.Cohen, a resident of Mevaseret Zion, was reported missing late last Monday after his father went to the police saying he had found a suicide note and asked that the ship be searched. After those participating in the onboard search failed to find him, the ship’s captain called for assistance from the Cyprus coast guard and turned the ship around in an attempt to find the missing man. The maritime search, which included Cypriot, Israeli and UN forces failed to find the missing man and was called off after 18 hours.The body was discovered by passersby on the Netanya beach and transferred to Abu Kabir. According to police sources it was in advanced stages of decomposition.According to Channel 2, all Cohen left behind was a short note reading “I love you, my car is parked at the mall,” alongside his bank account details.His sister told reporters that he was a loner and had no friends.According to his Facebook page, Cohen worked as an English and math tutor. He cited his interests as philosophy, physics and psychology
