Two days after a number of musicians including Roger Waters and Brian Eno joined a cultural and artistic boycott of Israel, one of America's greatest blues guitarist announced that he is on his way here for two shows in April.Grammy Award-winning Robert Cray and his band will perform at The Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center on April 11 and at the Zappa Shuni Amphitheater in Binyamina on April 12 in shows promoted by Shuki Weiss.Since his 1986 breakout album Strong Persuader, Cray has been considered a blues icon. Rolling Stone credited Cray with reinventing the blues on that album with his “distinct razor sharp guitar playing” that “introduced a new generation of mainstream rock fans to the language and form of the blues”Since then, Cray has gone on to release 16 albums, nab five Grammys and has written or performed with everyone from Eric Clapton and the late Stevie Ray Vaughan to Bonnie Raitt and the late John Lee Hooker.
