6-year-old dies after being hit by car on J'lem sidewalk

Vehicle loses control when airbag opened; 5-year old still in serious condition with stomach wound; 4 adults slightly hurt including father.

A 6-year-old child died from a head wound he sustained when a car lost control and hit him and several others on a Jerusalem sidewalk on Wednesday.
The child was admitted to Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem following the accident. He was unconscious and on a respirator. His death was announced several hours later.

The boy's five-year-old sister was also seriously injured in the accident. She was unconscious and doctors were treating a serious stomach wound she sustained in the accident.
The driver of the car who hit the children was in a head on collision with another vehicle and veered on to the sidewalk when the car's airbag opened causing him to lose control, police said.
The injured children were originally admitted to nearby Bikur Holim Hospital and later transferred to Hadassah Ein Carem Hospital.
Four other adults were slightly injured in the incident, including the children's father and the driver of the vehicle that hit the children.
