Areas close to the house of Military Advocate- General Maj.-Gen. Avichai Mandelblit in Petah Tikva were sprayed with graffiti overnight on Tuesday, displaying the message "traitor" in several neighborhood locations.The acts follow some condemnation of Mandelblit's decision to indict soldiers for crimes allegedly committed during Operation Cast Lead in 2009, in what was the most comprehensive legal action taken by Israel in the wake of the Goldstone Report.RELATED:Givati commander protests conviction of 2 soldiersIDF's ethics guru slams High Court ban on human shieldsIn early October, two combat soldiers from the Givati Infantry Brigade who ordered a nine-year-old Palestinian to open boxes and suitcases they feared were booby-trapped during Operation Cast Lead in 2009 were convicted of overstepping their authority, endangering a life and inappropriate conduct.On January 15, 2009, the soldiers told the boy in Gaza City to open the boxes, which proved to be harmless, according to the charge sheet filed by the Military Prosecutor’s Office with the Southern Command Military Court in Kastina, near Kiryat Malachi.Leaflets condemning Mandelblit for the same case were found in Mandelblit's area last week.
