1 killed, 15 injured in Wadi Ara car accident

Man trying to escape police blocked bus's path causing it to overturn; local residents throw stones at paramedics and security personnel.

A 21-year-old man was killed and 15 others were lightly injured on Saturday after a truck crashed into a bus at the entrance to Mushraifa in the Wadi Ara area on Highway 65.
Magen David Adom officials reported that the injured were taken to HaEmek Hospital in Afula and Hillel Yafe Hospital in Hadera.
Some local residents threw stones at security officers and paramedics that were operating in the area in the wake of the accident. Police called to the scene were able to restore order.
A truck traveling north apparently made a u-turn at Mushraifa Junction in an attempt to avoid police that were asking him to pull over for a traffic stop. While turning around he blocked the bus's path causing it to overturn. The truck also flipped over injuring the driver and causing his death.
Highway 65 was temporarily closed following the accident. The highway was reopened but police advised drivers to avoid the area.
