2010 was a record-breaking year for media coverage of Tel Aviv, with over 100
television crews and 200 print journalists from over 30 countries descending on
the city that never sleeps, a study released this week found.
The
Association for Tourism Tel Aviv – Jaffa determined that the most significant
report on Tel Aviv was one compiled by Lonely Planet, which called Tel Aviv one
of the hottest travel destinations for 2011.

The report also cited a piece in
National Geographic that called Tel Aviv one of the world’s top beachfront
cities, as well as an article written by Playboy, which verified rumors about
the city’s beautiful local women.
The association said Sunday that the
worldwide media coverage played a large role in a tourism boom in Tel Aviv,
which saw overnight bookings climb 22 percent from the previous year to
2,230,000.
