Kadima leadership candidate Shaul Mofaz visited Ma'ale Adumim and met with the settlement's mayor Benny Kashriel, in a "show of solidarity and support" for the settlement.
During his meeting with Kashriel, Mofaz said he saw Ma'ale Adumim, a settlement near Jerusalem with 39,000 residents, as an integral part of Israel's political agenda.
Kashriel responded that Mofaz is a friend of Ma'ale Adumim, saying throughout Mofaz's political and military careers he has supported the settlement.
Mofaz will be running against opposition leader Tzipi Livni and MK Avi Dichter in the upcoming Kadima primaries, which are taking place March 27.
