Rise Hi scored five runs in the top of the 7th inning to upend rival MW and earn
a tie atop the amateur softball league standings.
Rise Hi found
themselves trailing 9-8 in the bottom of the 6th inning following a two run
blast by MW’s Simon Pack, his second dinger of the day.
Rise Hi rallied
to tie the game in the 7th when Yisrael Rappaport drilled his second double of
the game to bring in two runs. They then added some cushion on a clutch three
run homer run by leftfielder David Tover.
Rise Hi led 4-0 early in the
game but MW surged back on Pack’s three run homer in the second inning to make
it 4-3. The game then went back and forth until Rise Hi shut down MW in the
bottom of the 7th.
For MW Yanky Itzkowitz hit a solo shot but Rise Hi
pitcher Ed Harow was able to dance out of trouble, shutting MW down with runners
in scoring position. Tover ended the day with four hits while Josh Harow and
Ariel Gilor each collected three.
Optica International 7, Ginot Shomron 6
Optica International defeated Ginot Shomron this past Friday 7-6 solidifying
their position in the Jerusalem Softball League playoff run.
OI took a
6-2 lead going into the seventh and final inning but Ginot came back to tie the
game with a four run rally finally getting to pitcher Danny Gewirtz after he
cruised through the first six innings.
