Police suspect a local man may have killed three people in two separate
incidents in the Haifa area on Monday before taking his own life.
In the
late afternoon, police found the body of 52-year-old hair stylist Dov Yosef, who
was shot to death in an elevator in a Kiryat Haim commercial
building.
After the murder, the alleged shooter fled the scene and was
cornered in a parking lot by police. As the cops closed in, the man put the gun
to his head, and pulled the trigger. Police are now checking to see if that
pistol matches the one that fired the bullet that killed Yosef.
A couple
of hours later, police found the bodies of two people in their forties inside an
apartment in Haifa’s Kiryat Shmuel neighborhood. The bodies had signs of
violence on them and police believe that they were murdered, potentially by the
man who killed Yosef.
The people involved in the case are not known to
police. Officers of the Coastal District have appointed the district’s branch of
the YAMAR investigative unit as the head of the investigation.
