Three suspects have been arrested in connection to a blast in a building in the Acre Old City that left five locals dead last Monday, a Haifa court cleared for publication on Wednesday.
The arrests were made last week but were banned from publication under a gag order. Coastal District police said they expect further arrests.
The blast which leveled the five story building is widely-suspected to be linked to a dispute over a cellular antenna placed on the rooftop by the building's owner, against the wishes of residents of the area. On several occasions people tried to damage the antenna, and last year an attempt was made to torch it.
Local residents had blamed the pirated antenna for causing illness among children in the area.
Police suspect that people trying to damage the antenna set off an explosive to it or tampered with a gas balloon on the roof top, triggering the explosion.
