Foreign Ministry strike may delay new housing
By NIV ELIS

The ongoing Foreign Ministry strike may have negative repercussions in Israel’s housing market.

According to a Tuesday Army Radio Report, some 460 Moldovan workers who were scheduled to come to Israel as foreign construction workers have been stranded in Europe as a result of the strike.

Israel’s government has battled a steady increase in the price of housing, caused largely by an inability to keep housing supply on par with soaring demand. Construction companies cite a lack of sufficient workers to build new housing as a persistent problem.
