Two Israeli Merkava tanks crossed the fence near the border town village of Qatmoun, remaining there for over one hour, Lebanese media reported on Wednesday.
Israeli fighter jets also flew over Lebanese border towns Tuesday evening and a drone was sited over the towns of Bint Jbeil, and Marjayoun, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.
Machine gun fire could also be heard on the Israeli side of the border due to military drills taking place.
This activity came after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah claimed responsibility on Monday for an attack against Israeli forces on the Golan last month.
The group’s leader said the March attack was a response to a previous Israel attack against it on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
