The election of Abdel Fateh al-Sisi as president of Egypt has been greeted with hope and promise across the Arab world, so much so that a new song about the election has gone viral on the web.

In what some are calling the Arab equivalent to Pharrell Williams' hit single "Happy" and the Harlem shake, millions of youngsters across the Middle East have been dancing to a new tune by an Emirati singer, Hussain al-Jasmi, called "Bushret Kheir," or "good omen."

Since its release on YouTube two weeks ago, it has amassed over 16 million views.

According to Al-Arabiya, the original intent of the song was to encourage Egyptians to vote in the elections. Since its release, however, it has become an unofficial celebratory anthem in the wake of Sisi's victory.
