Iron Dome intercepts rocket fired from Gaza over Ashkelon

Earlier in the evening projectile lands in open area of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council; no injuries or damage reported in attacks
The Iron Dome rocket defense system successfully intercepted a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip over the southern city of Ashkelon on Thursday evening.
There were no injuries or damages reported in the attack.
Earlier in the evening, a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in an open area of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. There were also no injuries or damages reported in that attack.
Early Thursday morning the Israel Air Force struck five terror sites in northern and central Gaza in response to two rockets fired a few hours earlier on Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on Wednesday night.
The IDF said one of the rockets on Wednesday hit a community in the region and the second rocket fell in an open area. No injuries were reported, but a home did sustain damage from shrapnel from the projectile.
According to Palestinian reports, one person in northern Gaza was injured in the IAF attack on Thursday.
