Three residents of the Israeli-Arab town of Kalansawa, east of Netanya, were charged Wednesday with attacking Jewish drivers during riots in the aftermath of the alleged revenge killing of Arab teen Muhammad Abu Khdeir by Jewish extremists.

Ta'ar Mahlouf, 21, Fawzi Abu Kahsak, 20, and Suleiman Shalbaiya, 23 were indicted at Lod District Court for two separate incidents which occurred on July 4 and July 5.

In one incident a Jewish driver was forced to exit his vehicle on Route 57 and was stoned, according to the indictment. His vehicle was set fire to and burned.

In the second incident, a motorcyclist on Route 57 was injured when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a poll after the suspects allegedly threw stones at him. The victim was hospitalized for nine days.

The state is requesting that the court remand the suspects to custody for the duration of legal proceedings against them.
