'Iran FM: Arab Spring heralds emergence of Muslim ME'
Salehi says that uprisings are "natural reaction" of Muslims when faced with oppression; slams "illegitimate interests" of Western states.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Salehi on Sunday told a conference in Tehran that the Arab Spring is heralding the emergence of an Islamic Middle East, PressTV reported.Speaking at a conference on "Islamic Awakening," the Iranian foreign minister attributed the developments in the Arab world to "the unhealthy and oppressive relations between certain governments and their nations" in recent decades.RELATED:MK Eldad: Iran using Arab Spring to make nuclear bomb 'Ahmadinejad insists Zionists started both World Wars' Arab uprisings, he added, are a "natural reaction" of Muslims when faced with oppressive policies of ruling regimes, according to the report.Ostensibly referring to Libya where the West has taken an active role in aiding rebels who have been embattled in a months-long battle to oust leader Muammar Gaddafi, Salahi slammed foreign interventions attempting to "hijack" revolutions.Foreign countries, he said, are involving themselves to advance their own "illegitimate interests."
