Lebanon: Wanted militant found dead at refugee camp

Officials say Ghandi Sahmarani was one of Lebanon's most wanted; militant found handcuffed, blindfolded and was shot in back of head.

BEIRUT — Lebanese and Palestinian security officials say one of Lebanon's most wanted militants was found dead in a Palestinian refugee camp that is a hotbed of Islamic extremists.
The officials say Lebanese citizen Ghandi Sahmarani, better known as Abu Ramez Sahmarani, was found handcuffed, blindfolded and shot execution-style in the back of his head.

The officials say his body was discovered on Saturday in the Ein el-Hilweh camp near the southern city of Sidon. The officials on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
Sahmarani was a leader of Jund al-Sham, a group that follows al-Qaida's extremist ideology.
The group has clashed in the past with members of the Palestinian Fatah.
