Egypt prosecutor orders Mubarak move to army hospital
Doctor declares ousted Egyptian president well enough to be transferred to hospital jail in Cairo, despite his wish to stay in Sharm el-Sheikh.

CAIRO - Egypt's public prosecutor said on Sunday that a doctor declared ousted President Hosni Mubarak well enough to be transferred to a prison hospital in Cairo pending questioning over corruption and murder allegations."The public prosecutor has ordered the Interior Ministry to transfer former President Hosni Mubarak to Mazra'a hospital in Torah prison (in Cairo)" once the hospital is ready to receive him, the prosecutor said in a statement.RELATED:'Mubarak detention extended over Israel gas deal'Court orders asset freeze on Mubarak’s partyMubarak took refuge in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh after a popular uprising ended his 30-year rule.He was admitted to a hospital there with an unspecified illness the day that prosecutors ordered him detained for questioning.Egypt's state prosecutor extended Mubarak's detention on Friday for an additional 15 days while he is being investigated.Last Wednesday, Army sources said the 82-year-old Mubarak wanted to remain in the hospital in the Red Sea city."Mubarak put in a request to the military council," an army source said, referring to the generals who took over from their former commander-in-chief. "He hopes they'll listen."Prosecuting Mubarak was one of the key demands of the protesters who swept him out of office, and who only stopped challenging the military authorities and staging demonstrations after he was ordered into detention.The prosecutor has since detained Mubarak's former prime minister and disbanded his long-ruling National Democratic Party -- all steps aimed at showing Egyptians the military is not collaborating with the former administration.
