It appeared that the crisis of the Pri Hagalil factory had come to an end Monday night.
Factory owner Oshik Efraim told Knesset Finance Committee chairman Moshe Gafni that the factory gates would open on Tuesday morning in light of the progress made in negotiations with state officials.
In an attempt to reach a final agreement toward reinstating the factory, Pri Hagalil workers’ union chairman Motti Haziza was set to meet Monday night with Efraim, Knesset Economics Committee chairman Carmel Shama-Hacohen, and officials from the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry and the Finance Ministry.
The owners of Pri Hagalil closed the factory on Friday, saying it was unprofitable to continue operations. The closure put 300 employees out of work in the northern town of Hatzor Haglilit.
