MK Michaeli brought up the issue of threats over the controversial bill
during an interview with Israel Radio Saturday, when she said that she
has been “attacked” via her
e-mail and Facebook accounts as a result of the bill, and that her
family
members have been threatened.
Michaeli did not detail what kinds of
threats her family had received, but said she was considering going to the
police.
The controversial bill has outraged Muslim activists around the country,
and those that feel the bill is directed at religious minorities in the
country.
The bill itself calls for a ban on the usage of a PA system to complete the call to prayer, called the
idhan in Arabic, and any other sound emanating from a religious institution that is deemed noise pollution.
