A military court on Tuesday sentenced one of the Fogel family murderers in Itamar to five life sentences, following his conviction in the murders last month.
Judges wrote in the sentencing that Hakim Awad’s actions “shock the conscience and leave any civilized person open mouthed.”
In early August the Samaria Military Court convicted 18- year-old Hakim Awad for the murder of five members of the Fogel family in the Itamar settlement. The victims include three children between three months and 11 years of age, and their parents, Ehud and Ruth.

Awad admitted to the charges against him in the indictment, according to which he and another youth, Amjad Awad, murdered the Fogel family in March.
Hakim Awad was also convicted of weapons offenses and various other security offenses.
The verdict on Amjad Awad is expected later this month.
The defendants, who are from the same clan, confessed to stabbing and shooting two young brothers, their parents, and a three-month-old baby in the attack.
“I don’t regret what I did, and would do it again,” Amjad Awad told reporters in May. “I’m proud of what I did and I’ll accept any punishment I get, even death, because I did it all for Palestine,” he added.
