An employee of a hi-tech production site in Kiryat Gat was charged this week
with growing marijuana at his workplace and distributing it to fellow
employees.
Kiryat Gat police station detectives launched an undercover
investigation earlier in June in conjunction with the security branch of the
production plant following suspicions that cannabis was being grown on
site.
Police then arrested the 37- year-old suspect.
“During
questioning he denied the suspicions, but we then searched his home, and
discovered packages of marijuana ready for sale,” police said. “He then
confessed, but claimed he was giving out the drug to friends, not selling it for
profit.”
Police questioned several additional employees on suspicion of
receiving the cannabis. The suspects were later charged with using drugs while
at work.
The main suspect is under full house arrest.
