Magen David Adom has raised its alertness level to 3 – the highest possible – in the Lachish region, as a result of the missiles and rockets on the South.
In the neighboring Ayalon region, the level of alert is 2, and ambulances from that area are also on standby. So far over the weekend and Sunday, the first-aid organization has treated seven wounded by terrorist rockets from Gaza.
On Sunday morning, in the Sha’ar Hanegev area, two men in their 50s incurred shrapnel wounds all over their bodies, and were taken with light injuries to Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba.
In the Sderot area, a man wounded in the face by shrapnel was taken for treatment at the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon. In addition, four people suffering from anxiety were evacuated to the trauma center in the area.
MDA called on residents under attack to remind them to proceed to the protected areas and shelters every time the alert is sounded, and to advise them to dial 101 in case anyone is hurt.
Meanwhile, Keren Ohana, a 37-year-old woman from Sderot in an advanced stage of pregnancy who ran to a protected area, went into labor on Sunday, and was rushed to Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot where she gave birth to a healthy boy.
On the same floor of the hospital, Aliza Ohana, a 71-yearold relative of hers from Ofakim who is a mother of 10, a grandmother and a great-grandmother, was operated on after breaking her hip bone while running for shelter during a rocket attack. Doctors said they would do all they could to enable her to attend her grandson’s wedding on Thursday.
