Police suspected that he was behind a number of past vandalism incidents.The man, whose personal identity is kept secret as per a gag order by the Jerusalem Magistrate Court, admitted to committing numerous acts of vandalism, including spraypainting "Death to Arabs" in a number of locations in Jerusalem and destroying a car owned by an Arab.
The man is motivated by nationalist goals, saying that he carried out the price tag attacks because he “hates Arabs and leftists.”Price tag attacks against left-wing activists have become an increasingly common phenomenon. In November alone, Peace Now leaders faced multiple acts of vandalism (including spraypainted words “Rabin is waiting for you” and swastikas) and even a bomb threat in their Jerusalem offices.
