Netanyahu: We are giving diplomacy a chance, but will expand operation if rockets continue

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel had accepted the Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire with Gaza in order to give a chance to efforts to solve the Hamas rocket and tunnel threat through diplomacy.
Speaking at a press conference with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Netanyahu said that if Hamas rejects the ceasefire and continues to fire rockets, Israel will intensify the operation in Gaza.
The prime minister said that this path would gain the support of "responsible actors in the international community."
