Against the backdrop of the high cost of living and increased expenses ahead of Passover, the Histadrut is launching a wide-ranging consumer initiative, through which its members will be offered food and cleaning packages at a significant discount of tens of percent.
As part of the initiative, which will take place between March 17 and 31 (or until supplies run out), two separate packages will be offered – each priced at NIS 175 – including essential household items, food, toiletries, or cleaning and laundry products. According to the data, this represents a discount of approximately 40%-50% compared to average market prices.
What do the packages include?
One package includes basic food products alongside toiletries and cleaning items – including oil, rice, tuna, sauces, spreads, coffee, and additional products for daily use, along with household items such as baking paper, wipes, and dishwashing liquid.
The second package focuses on cleaning and holiday preparation, and includes, among other things, dishwasher capsules, kitchen and bathroom cleaning products, laundry items, stain removers, and paper products.
Free delivery – but with restrictions
The Histadrut notes that free delivery is provided only when purchasing the packages, but it is not possible to change the contents of the packages or select specific products. In addition, the purchase is limited to one package of each type per order. The benefit is available to Histadrut members only, through the “Social Supermarket” websites and the “Together for You” consumer club.
According to the Histadrut, this is the first step in a series of consumer measures planned for the near future. The aim is to help households cope with high costs, especially during periods of heavy spending such as holidays.
