The House of Cartier has unveiled its 2025–2026 eyewear collection, featuring five main lines, each inspired by a different icon from the Parisian maison.
The most prominent among them is Santos, a unisex collection born from the legendary watch designed by Louis Cartier at the beginning of the last century. The exposed screws, which have become one of the house’s signature elements, are incorporated into the frames as well - a design detail that works because it comes from an authentic source, not simply to be recognizable.
The Panthère collection, on the other hand, makes no attempt to go unnoticed. Panther heads emerge from the temples, accompanied by gold finishes, colored lenses, and polarized options. It is a collection designed for those who want their eyewear to tell a story.
When Classic Design Meets Contemporary Trends
The season’s most intriguing addition is Clash, a collection that deliberately plays with contrasts: Square studs alongside round beads, polished and brushed surfaces placed side by side. It is less traditionally Cartier and distinctly more contemporary.
For those seeking the opposite approach, Signature C represents Cartier at its most understated. The C motif is subtly woven into the frame design without drawing attention, yet anyone familiar with the brand will recognize it instantly.
Première completes the circle with a collection that returns to simple acetate, clean lines, and eyewear designed to be comfortably worn every day.
What unites all five collections is their craftsmanship. Some frames are crafted from hand-polished buffalo horn, ensuring that no two pairs are exactly alike. Others are crafted from natural wood, while at the pinnacle of the collection are 18-karat gold frames set with hand-mounted diamonds, finished to the standards of fine jewelry.
The collection is available in Israel at Opticana stores.
