The IDF Home Front Command extended its security guidelines restricting social gatherings, non-essential workplace activity, and closure of schools until at least Saturday at 8:00 p.m., it announced on Monday.
The guidelines had been set by HFC from Saturday morning as Israel struck Iran as part of Operation Roaring Lion.
The initial security guidelines were initially set to remain in place until Monday at 8:00 p.m.
This comes after the US and Israel began Operations Roaring Lion and Epic Fury earlier this week.
Iran, proxies, launch retaliatory strikes against Israel
In retaliation for the airstrikes against the Islamic Regime's nuclear and military facilities, Iran and its regional proxies and allies have launched missiles, rockets, and drones against Israel since Saturday morning.
This included a missile launch triggering sirens in northern Israel on Monday night, which initial reports stated was launched by Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, but the IDF denied this.
Additionally, several drones were launched overnight Monday-Tuesday, triggering sirens in northern Israel.
A further round of sirens sounded in the Jerusalem area on Tuesday morning due to a suspected hostile aircraft infiltration, but the IDF, investigating the incident, confirmed that it was triggered by a false alarm.
