Clandestine IDF units 8200 and 9900 gave key intelligence to the Israel Air Force to take out the secret underground bunker of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the military said on Friday.
Unit 8200 is Israel’s signal intelligence agency, tracking, eavesdropping, and hacking the communications and devices of foreign adversaries.
Unit 9900 is Israel’s visual intelligence agency for assessing satellite and other elements of surveillance data of targeted locations.
IDF intel allowed military to find Khamenei's bunker
The IDF said that 50 aircraft targeted the secret underground lair spread over several blocks in the heart of Tehran, with over 100 munitions.
A statement said that there were numerous entrances to the secret subterranean complex, which was one of the critical command centers from which Khamenei and others often ran the country during a crisis.
It happens to be that on February 28, the Iranian supreme leader was killed by Israel in his regular command complex, but the IDF still wanted to remove this vital command component from the Islamic regime’s list of assets for managing the war.
