Abutbul legal team requests permission to appeal from Supreme Court
The legal team representing Beit Shemesh Mayor Moshe Abutbul formally presented its request to the Supreme Court to appeal the recent decision of the Jerusalem District Court to cancel the results of the municipal elections that were held in Beit Shemesh in October and hold new elections.

Attorney Yaakov Weinrot, who heads Abutbul’s legal representation, noted specifically in his request that only 160 identity cards were discovered by police in the wrongful possession of haredi activists, and claimed that it was inconceivable that these activists could have got possession of enough ID cards to have swung the election in favor of Abutbul given the fact that he won the election by 956 votes.
