Times Square billboard blares ad calling for safe return of Israeli teens
New York synagogue buys space on giant digital screen for advertisement in solidarity with the #bringbackourboys campaign.
A New York synagogue bought space for an advertisement on a giant digital billboard in Times Square to raise more awareness in the United States of the kidnapping earlier in the month of three Israeli teenagers and efforts to retrieve them.

The ad - which debuted on Tuesday on a billboard screen between Manhattan's 47th and 48th streets - has been featured daily for 15 seconds twice an hour, according to the New York Post.

In solidarity with the social media campaign calling for the safe return of the missing yeshiva students, the ad displays photographs of Gil-Ad Shaer, Eyal Yifrah and dual Israeli-US citizen Naftali Fraenkel with the hashtag #bringbackourboys.

“On June 12th, 2014, three teenage boys were kidnapped in Israel, one of them an American citizen,” reads the advertisement.

“These boys are not soldiers. They are not fighters. They are not violent. These boys are our sons. Our brothers. Our grandchildren. Our nephews. Our friends. Please help create global awareness,” it adds.
